Cover for “The Secret Garden” by Frances Hodgson Burnett
For the final in my Contemporary Illustration class with Chris Buzelli I had to re-design/illustrate a cover for a classic book. The Secret Garden is one of my all-time favorites. I have read it an obscene amount of times. This was my last piece of homework during my undergraduate college career!
I am honored to be a recipient of a scholarship in this year's Society of Illustrators Student Competition. My piece "Neighborhood" won a scholarship, both it and my piece "At Home" were displayed in the opening reception show at the Society of Illustrators, in New York last night!
My friends Alison Rutsch and Bianca Diaz were also selected to be in the show! As well as several other wonderful RISD students. I'm so proud to have such amazing friends & peers!

Exhausted waiting for the subway after a 6 hour drive in standstill traffic...We ended up missing the award ceremony at Society of Illustrators but were able to make it for the tail end of the evening.
She's part of my Flower Folk collection, which I'll be posting more about soon. It's crunch time here at RISD, I'm completing my very last finals of college...It is surreal and overwhelming and I am incredibly ready to get DONE!

I can't believe that it is already my senior show... where has college gone?
